About Megan
Hi there!
I am Megan Marples and I'm a graduate student at Arizona State University's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in Phoenix, Arizona. I will be graduating December 2020. I earned my bachelor's degree in journalism and minor in tourism management in December 2019, graduating top of my class in two and a half years. I also graduated from Barrett, The Honors College and completed my thesis, Experience Ireland, at goexperienceireland.com.
My focus is in multimedia journalism with an emphasis on travel and health topics. I write stories, take photographs, shoot video, produce podcasts, anchor broadcasts, interpret social media analytics and build websites with interactive elements. I also have covered a wide variety of topics, from Native American health disparities to the Tokyo Summer Olympics. I currently intern at CNN on their Features team. I have had other internships at CNN as well as The Arizona Republic and Phoenix New Times.
My goal is to create high-quality content that is relevant and helpful for viewers. I also want to continue contributing to the way readers and consumers digest information, plan their travels and learn about the world.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to different countries and exploring their heritage sites. I have been to Ireland multiple times and keep coming back for the breathtaking views and friendly locals.
